Ë®¹ûÅÉ offers a Bachelor of Social Work degree program tailored to adult learners. With a comprehensive curriculum, flexible scheduling options, and a robust support system, the program is designed to help you succeed in this rewarding and impactful profession.
BSW graduates who meet the criteria are eligible for Advanced Standing, meaning they can complete an accelerated curriculum to earn a master’s degree in social work from CSWE-accredited MSW programs.
Alvernia's Bachelor of Science in Sport Management program prepares students for sports industry management, law, finance, accounting, development, marketing, media, licensing, ethics, merchandising and special events. The Header School of Business faculty approaches business education from a practical and ethical standpoint, assisting students in developing supervisory and managerial skills necessary to advance their careers. Students are provided with an opportunity to seek out shadow experiences and externship and internship opportunities.

The programs feature multiple degree tracks, each approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
The Applied Health program leading to an Associate of Science degree is a dual enrolled degree program between The Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences and Ë®¹ûÅÉ. In addition to the Associate of Science degree graduates will receive a Diploma in Nursing from RH-SHS. The RH-SHS Diploma in Nursing Program is nationally accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
The Applied Science program leading to an Associate of Science degree is a dual-enrolled program between the Joseph F. McCloskey School of Nursing and Ë®¹ûÅÉ. In addition to the Associate of Science degree, graduates will receive a Diploma in Nursing from JFMSON. The JFMSON is nationally accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing and approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program leading to an Associate in Science degree is a dual enrolled degree program between Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences (RHSHS) and Ë®¹ûÅÉ. In addition to the Associate in Science degree, graduates will receive a Certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from RHSHS. Graduates of the DMS Program are eligible to take the national credentialing exams through the American Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) upon completion.
Alvernia's post-baccalaureate certification programs for educators are approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Certification coursework may be applied to earning a Master of Education or Ph.D. in Leadership degree. Individual courses may be taken as Act 48 credits.
Alvernia’s Early Childhood Education (PK-4) and Special Education (PK-12) Certifications dual major unlocks an unlimited career potential. The program prepares teachers for preschool through Grade 4 and special education teachers in public and private educational institutions. The program is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The dual certification allows program graduates to work as:
• Elementary educators (preschool though Grade 4)
• Special education teachers and learning support specialists (preschool though Grade 12)
in public and private educational institutions.
Ë®¹ûÅÉ offers a wide range of minors, which are optional programs of study that complement or supplement students' majors. They typically require 18-21 credits. Learn more about our offerings below.
