History majors don’t just study what has happened in the past. As a history major at Ë®¹ûÅÉ, you’ll acquire skills and knowledge that can prepare you for a variety of careers in fields including teaching, law, government service, writing, researching, genealogy, business and politics. Perhaps most importantly, however, you’ll achieve a better understanding of the world and its people.
Earning a history degree at Alvernia can also prepare you for graduate school. History graduates have been accepted into a variety of graduate programs, including law, business and medical, at institutions such as Carnegie Mellon University, Penn State University and the University of Pennsylvania.

Business Administration and Management majors at Ë®¹ûÅÉ’s Header School of Business will be prepared for a variety of entry-level and mid-level management opportunities in small, mid-sized, and large organizations in industry, government, and service-oriented fields.
Ë®¹ûÅÉ's online Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management prepares students for a variety of entry-level and mid-level management opportunities in small, mid-sized, and large organizations in industry, government, and service-oriented fields. Faculty with practical business experience share offer insights into the changing global business world. The program’s online format gives students flexibility to study on their own time.
This program is also available in a hybrid format with courses primarily offered fully online and some evening courses via Zoom or on campus.
The Marketing program at Ë®¹ûÅÉ’s Header School of Business explores and examines the ever-evolving complexities of the marketing industry, delving into such important topics as accounting, business law, statistics, corporate finance, consumer behavior, advertising and promotion. The learning experience expands far beyond textbooks, strengthened by a state-of-the-art business lab featuring the Bloomberg Terminal, and the O'Pake Institute for Economic Development and Entrepreneurship, which offers resources to students and businesses to assist with economic development.
Mathematics is one of Alvernia's highest paying and most sought after majors. Furthermore, math majors consistently score high on entrance exams for medical school and law school. Majoring in math will teach students critical thinking, and quantitative and analytical skills that are in high demand by employers.
Alvernia's class sizes are capped at 24 for lower-level courses and are typically much lower in upper-level courses. Though content-heavy, the major is credit-light. Combining theory with clinical practice, the curriculum develops the skill set necessary for nurses to not only address the physical and psychological needs of their patients across the lifespan, but also to educate and advocate, counsel, research and problem solve with sensitivity and understanding.
Ë®¹ûÅÉ's post-baccalaureate Master of Science in Occupational Therapy program is designed for students with an earned bachelor's degree who are ready to take the next step in their professional journey.
