Ë®¹ûÅÉ's Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Science degree teaches students how to advocate for individuals and communities that are underserved or under-informed on issues related to health and wellness, health-system policies and health management.

Perhaps most importantly, however, you’ll achieve a better understanding of the world and its people.
Earning a history degree at Alvernia can also prepare you for graduate school. History graduates have been accepted into a variety of graduate programs, including law, business and medical, at institutions such as Carnegie Mellon University, Penn State University and the University of Pennsylvania.
Developed with the input of faculty members with academic and practical business experience, Ë®¹ûÅÉ's Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management offers insights into the changing global business world. Business Administration and Management majors at Ë®¹ûÅÉ’s Header School of Business will be prepared for a variety of entry-level and mid-level management opportunities in small, mid-sized, and large organizations in industry, government, and service-oriented fields.
The Marketing program at Ë®¹ûÅÉ’s Header School of Business explores and examines the ever-evolving complexities of the marketing industry, delving into such important topics as accounting, business law, statistics, corporate finance, consumer behavior, advertising and promotion. The learning experience expands far beyond textbooks, strengthened by a state-of-the-art business lab featuring the Bloomberg Terminal, and the O'Pake Institute for Economic Development and Entrepreneurship, which offers resources to students and businesses to assist with economic development.
Mathematics is one of Alvernia's highest paying and most sought after majors. Furthermore, math majors consistently score high on entrance exams for medical school and law school. Majoring in math will teach students critical thinking, and quantitative and analytical skills that are in high demand by employers.
Alvernia's class sizes are capped at 24 for lower-level courses and are typically much lower in upper-level courses. Though content-heavy, the major is credit-light. The John and Karen Arnold School of Nursing at Ë®¹ûÅÉ prepares future nursing professionals to enter the field ready to provide skillful, compassionate healthcare in virtually every setting, from community health clinics and hospitals to schools and nursing homes to emergency and disaster relief sites. Combining theory with clinical practice, the curriculum develops the skill set necessary for nurses to not only address the physical and psychological needs of their patients across the lifespan, but also to educate and advocate, counsel, research and problem solve with sensitivity and understanding.

Alvernia's Bachelor of Science in Accounting program prepares students for careers in industry and/or public accounting, and they are encouraged to consider obtaining a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification at the completion of their coursework. The program offers a five-year business program that results in a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Business Administration degree to satisfy the 150-credit requirement for the CPA licensure. In addition, the program offers a concentration in fraud examination and provides the core competencies needed for students to excel in fraud examination and obtain the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation.
